Started construction from the year 2011 and with a 0.18 billion yuan of investment so far, an international cruise home port is building in Zhujiajian Island, and until now, foundations, lower separator of approach span and a platform for dock have completed building. “Departments like customs and border inspection will begin to handle businesses this June in a temporary hall which now is building.” An officer from Zhoushan International Cruise Home Port Company said.
With a total investment of 0.6 billion yuan, the port is one of seven cruise ports in China approved by National Tourism Administration, which is designed to transport 500,000 tourists every year. According to plan, the project will build a 100,000 ton level berth and an approach span in 356 meters long and 32 meters wide coastal line.
In addition to international cruising and direct voyage to Taiwan, the port will also connect Zhujiajian with other cities like Ningbo and Shanghai, and other islands in Zhoushan like Taohua and Dengbu.
It is predicted that cruise ship will begin to berth by the end of this October.
